What is BOTOX Cosmetic?

A BOTOX Cosmetic treatment is a simple, nonsurgical procedure that smoothes the deep, persistent lines between your brows that develop over time. One 10-minute treatment, a few tiny injections, relaxes the muscles that cause those lines to form and keeps them relaxed up to 4 months. The results are dramatic and apparent within days.

Is BOTOX Cosmetic right for you?

Thousands of appearance-conscious women and men have already discovered the benefits of BOTOX Cosmetic. Not just models and movie stars, but ordinary people, teachers, mothers, and business people from all walks of life.

Who should administer BOTOX Cosmetic?

Any authorized health care professional can administer BOTOX Cosmetic, however plastic surgeons, dermatologists, anesthesiologists are generally more experienced.

What can I expect from BOTOX Cosmetic treatment?

No anesthesia is required. Discomfort is minimal and brief, most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. It is unlikely you will develop significant side effects, although some people may develop slight temporary bruising at the injection site, which can easily be covered by makeup. You may resume normal activity immediately. The most common side effects are headache, respiratory infection, flu syndrome, temporary eyelid droop, and nausea.

Who is a good candidate for BOTOX Cosmetic?

Treatment can be used by people from ages 18 to 65. Our specialists can help you decide if BOTOX Cosmetic is right for you.

Will my lines look worse if I choose not to continue treatments?

Restylen | Juvederm | Radiesse | Bellotero

What is Restylen, Juvederm or Radiesse?

Restylen, Juvederm and Radiesse are safe and natural cosmetic dermal fillers that restore volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.

What should patients do prior to treatment?

Avoid using aspirin, or high doses of Vitamin E supplements prior to treatment, because these may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Also, if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another recurrence.

Are they safe?

Yes. Restylen, Juvederm and Radiesse have been used safely by dermatologists and plastic surgeons since 1996 worldwide. Because they are non-animal-based and fully biocompatible, allergy testing is not required. There is virtually no risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction. The most commonly reported side effects were temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. These effects typically resolve within two to three days.

How long do the fillers last?

Studies have shown that Radiesse is the longest lasting filler. Restylen and Juvederm are considered to be short lasting fillers; however, the average treatment results show that they may last up to six months or even longer.

Do the injections hurt?

The fillers are injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultrafine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. The procedure is simple and convenient, and results are practically instantaneous. To optimize your comfort during the short procedure, we may anesthetize the treatment area.

Mesotherapy

What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a painless technique of injecting a small amount of a customized mixture of conventional pharmaceutical or homeopathic medications, vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes into the mesoderm — or middle — layer of skin. These very small doses of the substances are administered using very tiny needles in specific areas depending on the condition being treated. Mesotherapy is used to treat a broad spectrum of illnesses and pain conditions. This minimally invasive approach has shown successful results in many areas: sports injuries, hair regrowth, alopecia, and cosmetic treatments.

What areas of the body can Mesotherapy be used?

Mesotherapy may be used for cellulite, body fat reduction, body sculpturing and weight loss, facial rejuvenation (mesolift) and eye fat pads.

How does mesotherapy reduce cellulite?

This skin condition affects over 90% of females regardless of their weight or age. The injected customized blend of medications interact with the fat cell, encouraging the cell to release the fat within allowing it to be burned as fuel, improves blood flow and lymphatic drainage of the target area, removes the fibrotic, connective tissue bands, and melts the excess of fat deposits. This results in a significant reduction of the orange peel skin appearance and in the loss of inches from the treated areas. Because cellulite is a chronic condition, the mesotherapy process of correcting it may require ten to fifteen (10–15) sessions.

Fat Spot Reduction

For females and males who have an accumulation of fat in unwanted areas, mesotherapy is a non-invasive alternative to liposuction. However, the technique is not a complete replacement for liposuction. Mesotherapy is a suitable alternative for small area sculpturing or as an option for patients who may not be good surgical candidates for liposuction. The fat-burning mesotherapy injections can successfully reduce fat deposits from hips, thighs, waist, love handles, back, abdomen, arms, and double chins.

Body Sculpting & Weight Loss

Cosmetic contouring of the abdomen, face, neck, back, bra-lines, legs, thighs, and hands can be achieved with mesotherapy injections. Vitamins and amino acids are injected to tighten sagging skin while additional agents are used to remove areas of fat, thereby restoring a more youthful and athletic appearance of the body without downtime.

Facial Rejuvenation

The mesolift is a mesotherapy approach to treat aging, sagging, and wrinkling of the skin involving the face and neck. It is also used to retard the progression of wrinkling and to rejuvenate ashen complexions. Mesotherapy helps to shrink fat from under the neck, remove free radical damage, and tighten loose skin.

Eye Fat Pads

Mesotherapy has proven successful for reduction of the fat or puffy areas found under the eyes (the "tired" look). It can usually delay, or avoid, the need for future surgical removal of fat pads (lower eyelid blepharoplasty) and the possible complications associated with surgery.

Are there any side effects?

The majority of patients experience minimal discomfort with mesotherapy. Some patients may develop minimal local pain, a minor burning sensation for a few hours, and temporary bruising. Itching and soreness may be experienced for a few days. The procedure is performed in the office and takes minutes to complete.

How many treatments are required before I see results?

It depends on the patient's body and the extent of the fat/cellulite/skin to be treated. Some patients see results after one treatment session while most patients require 3–5 treatments to notice results. Some cases may require 5–15 treatments, and sometimes more.

How much does mesotherapy cost?

Mesotherapy treatments typically cost from $300–450 per area per session, depending upon the size, location and difficulty of the area(s) being treated. If more than one area is to be treated per session, pricing may be determined on an individual basis.

Is mesotherapy different from liposuction?

Yes. Mesotherapy is a non-surgical medical treatment. Mesotherapy removes the fat from the fat cell, where liposuction removes the entire fat cell. Mesotherapy does not require anesthesia nor recovery time. However, mesotherapy is not a replacement for liposuction. Mesotherapy is best suited for men and women who are not excessively overweight but, instead, have certain problem areas with stubborn fat that can no longer be reduced by diet and exercise.

Restrictions after treatment:

Fat Grafting

What is Fat Transfer or Fat Grafting?

Fat Transfer or Fat Grafting can be used to rejuvenate the face. As the face ages over time, the fat content continually diminishes, and the face develops a sunken, hollow appearance. Fat Transfer uses the ultimate filler, fat harvested from other parts of the body, to restore a youthful volume to the face. Fat transplants restore the natural fullness of the youthful face and can be used to improve features such as helping lips curve and enlarging cheek bone area or filling deep cheek lines or smile lines.

What is surgery time?

60–90 minutes.

What are requirements for preparation?

For 7–10 days before surgery, you need to avoid anticoagulants such as alcohol, aspirin, antihistamins, herbal oils, and over the counter feel good preparations.

What is the period of healing?

You need to have a day or two to yourself. If you are not sharing the fact of your surgery allow 7–10 days for healing. Some patients heal faster than others.

What is the difference in comparison with traditional fillers?

Most fillers (Juvederm, Restylen etc) last less than 6 months, so that treatment can be required three times a year. By contrast fat is natural, can heal, cannot be felt when you kiss, and lasts a long time. It is reliable and a staple of the plastic surgery regimen.

Sclerotherapy

What is Sclerotherapy?

Sclerotherapy is a microinjection procedure to treat spider veins. The procedure involves injection of a sterile solution (called a sclerosing solution) into the small veins using a very fine, thin needle. This solution irritates the vein lining causing it to undergo fibrosis and eventually disappear. Generally, most individuals have multiple spider veins and only up to 15–20 injections can be done in one seating. Each treatment session lasts up to 30 minutes.

How many Sclerotherapy treatments are required?

It varies from individual to individual but typically 2–4 treatments are required for the best results. In patients with milder cases, 1–2 will suffice.

Does Sclerotherapy hurt?

There is a little sting associated with each injection. The burning sensation lasts a few seconds. Most individuals tolerate the procedure and do not require any type of anesthesia. The majority of patients claim that the procedure is much less painful than what they anticipated.

What happens after Sclerotherapy treatment?

There is some mild pain which can easily be overcome with Tylenol. The injection site will appear bruised and swollen for a few days. The bruising usually disappears in 2–3 weeks. After the first 2 days, most patients can resume their normal activities.

Body Sculpturing

SmartLipo is a tool for body sculpturing and liposuction done by the Cynosure laser. It can be used on the face, chin, arms, thighs and other different parts of the body with no incisions required and no major down-time after the procedure.
